The Arc Village is a new model of housing for Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled Individuals, combining affordable, independent living with on-site support functions and staff, 24-hour security and assistance from agency and community volunteers. The community consists of a gated neighborhood encompassing 40, 1- story house-like structures with 96, 1- or 2-bedroom apartment-style homes to support residents’ independent living. The Village also includes a community center to promote socialization among residents, with regular activities in the clubhouse that include a movie room, game room, fitness room and a multi-purpose room with a cafeteria that serves dinner every night. Outdoor activities include a garden program, a community pool and a basketball court. The facility also includes residential support programs, case management, and an infirmary.
