The Village at Lake Forest has officially broken ground in Jacksonville, Florida, marking the redevelopment of the former Lake Forest Elementary School site into a new multifamily affordable housing community.

Located at 901 Kennard Street, the project consists of 120 residential units distributed across three five-story buildings. Developed by Ability Housing, the community is designed to support both residential living and educational programming, including dedicated spaces for outreach initiatives and an on-site early learning component.

PQH Group Design is leading the architectural design and has worked closely with Ability Housing to define program targets. The project is organized to support both residential living and community-focused functions, with a layout that accommodates daily use while maintaining efficiency between program elements.

Outdoor amenities include multiple playgrounds, a volleyball court, and picnic areas, contributing to a site plan that supports both individual living and shared community activity.
