City of Jacksonville Breaks Ground on Fire Station 66
Today, the City of Jacksonville held a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station 66, marking the next phase in the City’s continued investment in public safety infrastructure. PQH Group Design served as architect for the new facility, which expands the City’s established fire station prototype program.
Fire Station 66 builds upon a family of standardized prototypes developed in partnership with the City to ensure operational consistency, cost control, and long-term durability across diverse site conditions throughout Duval County.
The design supports the daily demands of first responders through efficient circulation between living quarters and apparatus bays, hurricane-rated construction, durable material systems, and energy-efficient building strategies. Each prototype is calibrated to enable rapid deployment while providing functional spaces that support rest and recovery between calls.
PQH Group Design has collaborated with the City of Jacksonville on multiple fire stations over the past two decades. Fire Station 66 reflects the continued evolution of that prototype framework and the City’s commitment to strengthening its emergency response network.
Fire Station 66 strengthens Jacksonville’s emergency response network through consistent design, operational clarity, and long-term resilience.
