FSCJ North Campus Cardiovascular Technology Unit
An advanced instructional environment supporting hands-on training in cardiovascular imaging and diagnostics
A 9,000-square-foot renovation that transforms existing spaces into specialized teaching labs and simulation environments for cardiovascular technology training.
Project Overview
Located at Florida State College at Jacksonville- North Campus, this $1.3 million renovation reimagines an existing facility to support the college’s growing Cardiovascular Technology Unit. This project relocates and consolidates program spaces into a new instructional hub that blends technology-rich learning with real-world clinical workflow.
Design Approach
The design organizes three specialized teaching laboratories around an operational scanner, giving students access to authentic, hands-on experience using industry-standard sonography and imaging equipment. High-fidelity simulation rooms replicate the environment of an active diagnostic suite, while adjacent classrooms and observation zones allow instructors to teach dynamically between theory and practice.
Program Highlights:
- Three specialized teaching labs supporting simulation-based learning
- Real-world workflow layout mirroring clinical practice
- Advanced MEP systems integrated for high-performance imaging equipment
- State-of-the-art sonography and imaging rooms supporting real-time diagnostics
Impact
The Cardiovascular Technology Unit equips FSCJ students with a robust foundation in cardiovascular diagnostics. Through state-of-the-art facilities and thoughtful spatial organization, PQH Group Design delivered an educational environment that advances experiential learning, supports program growth, and strengthens the college’s role in preparing the region’s next generation of healthcare professionals.
