Project Overview

Located in Bonita Springs, Florida, American House Coconut Point is a three-story senior living facility designed by PQH Group Design to provide a full continuum of care within one setting. Completed in 2016, the $26.2 million, 173,494-square-foot project includes:

• 54 independent living units
• 76 assisted living units
• 64 memory care units

The development offers a safe, engaging environment where residents enjoy privacy, social interaction, and access to a wide range of amenities designed to enrich daily life.

Design Approach

The facility is organized around a three-story atrium, serving as the central hub for gathering and activity. This open, light-filled space connects the building’s residential wings and houses shared amenities, including:

• Country club-style dining and anytime café
• Spa and salon with nail and massage services
• Media and activity room and library
• Full-service fitness center supporting health and wellness

This centralized design encourages interaction and movement while maintaining clear wayfinding and accessibility across all care levels.

Residential and Outdoor Environments

Each residential area; independent, assisted, and memory care, is tailored to the specific needs of its residents, promoting comfort, dignity, and independence. Outdoor courtyards extend daily life beyond the building, providing spaces for exercise, recreation, and relaxation. Dedicated areas include:

• Activity courtyards for each care level neighborhood
• An independent courtyard with a swimming pool and shaded activity areas
• Landscaped walkways connecting indoor and outdoor spaces
